BIOGRAPHY
Jacqueline is a newcomer on the country music
scene with a fresh new
sound. Her debut album 'Country My Way’ is a mosaic of styles,
from country-pop songs like "Three
Minute Star
(In A Karaoke Bar)"
and "Balloons," to patriotic songs such as "Bring It Back"
and
"Let It Fly".
The album also includes more traditional country
music like "Broken and
Blue," and ballads
such as
"Hold Me In Your Arms Again" and "Truro, Cape Cod".
Originally conceived of as a demo CD to show off her range of
musical styles,
it is enjoying
unexpected success as a newly
released first album. Frequently praised, she was
gifted with
a voice that spans an enormous dynamic range compatible
with many musical
styles. Her songs
were co-written with
Garrick Alden, a highly talented musician with whom she
collaborated, to
produce the album. Alden, a veteran studio
musician with Nashville experience,
and Jacqueline are
being
recognized by both Europe and the United States as
something different
from the mainstream
of Nashville’s current offerings.
Jacqueline, a military brat,
grew up in Massachusetts,
Rhode Island,California, Maryland and Virginia Beach
before
settling in
Northern Virginia. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts,
outsideof
Boston, singing was her
greatest passion from as early
back as she can remember. Her early influences
were as varied
as
Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, Barbara Streisand and Donna Fargo.
She played their
music a line at a
time, over and over again, on a
record player (which was a real challenge) until she was satisfied
that she could sound like them. Her family did not share her
enthusiasm for
singing as a career so she did not pursue
it publicly. After a long and successful early career as an
interstate
shower singer, all that changed one day. Invited
to a karaoke fund-raiser one evening in 1998, she was
prodded into singing. At the end of Patsy Cline's 'Crazy'
the room went
silent.
Then, someone screamed out
'you need to quit your day job'.
She was ready to
sing.
She has since joined
forces with Michael Brazie and together they
formed the band 'Turning Point'. First performing at open mikes,
Ford and Brazie were soon featured performers at a number of
clubs in the Northern Virginia area. Ford and Brazie in
collaboration with Garrick Alden are now working on her
second album. Also, in collaboration with
'The Pluckers' a talented bluegrass band, they
completed a Christmas Album in 2004.
To date she has
recorded over twenty-five original songs,
co-written with Garrick Alden and Michael Brazie, and
five songs written by Kenneth Carroll (a long time friend)
and Garrick Alden. Her debut album, 'Country My Way',
is now available on CD Baby and over 40 digital
services including itunes and Rhapsody. Her
second album will be released in 2008.

writing, it was important to me that the words
not only blended well with the music but provided a good or fun
